Anxiety / Panic Attacks
“I was right in the middle of the worst of my anxiety attacks when I had my first hypnotherapy session.  I was worried that I would not be able to relax enough to be hypnotized.  Anita’s calm demeanor and soothing voice quickly put me at ease.  Not only did the attack cease, but I was quickly able to enter a deep state of relaxation.  Although my anxiety attacks did not stop immediately they were significantly better after only one session.  Anita gave me a CD with a practice relaxation session.  I listened to the CD several times a day at first.  This was extremely helpful.  I also returned for two more sessions with Anita.  With each session I was able to reach a deeper state of relaxation, and able to explore my anxiety attacks a little more.  I remember everything that happened while I was hypnotized.  After only 3 sessions my anxiety attacks disappeared completely.I have struggled with anxiety attacks since I was a teenager.  I do not have them all the time, only during times of great change in my life like starting a new job.  The attacks usually occur numerous times, day and night, for several weeks and eventually go away.  While I am having these anxiety attacks they are totally incapacitating.

In the past I have tried traditional psychotherapy and medication.  While pregnant with my daughter two years ago the panic attacks reappeared for several months.  My trigger seems to be nausea and early pregnancy is filled with nausea.  I was determined to get through the attacks without medication, which could be harmful to the baby.  Although the attacks eventually subsided, it was a long and frustrating few months, not the joyful time it should have been. 

When I recently discovered that I was pregnant again, I was hopeful that the anxiety attacks would not return, but they did.  This time I was determined to do something quickly.  I searched the internet for alternative therapies.  I quickly found Anita’s website which described hypnotherapy.  The articulate way hypnotherapy was described caught my attention.  I left Anita a message and she quickly returned my call, although it was a holiday week.

I would recommend Anita Germain to anyone who is willing to explore hypnotherapy.  I cannot say for sure that my anxiety attacks will never return, but I now feel I have the tools to get through them.
